Screenwriter Admits That The Sword Is In Fact Mightier Than The Pen

STUDIO CITY, CA - Due to the fact that the pen is not necessarily mightier than the sword, yet another screenwriter has been stabbed to death in a Los Angeles production office.

Dying screenwriter, Larry J. Paulsen admitted to paramedics that the sword is, in fact, mightier than the pen.  Just an hour before his death, Paulsen had been pitching a script idea to Jerry Bruckheimer in Bruckheimer’s Studio City office, when he was suddenly stabbed in the chest by the well known action film producer.

“ He was pitching this boring script,” Bruckheimer told authorities. “It was about love and passion in Cold War era Hungary.  Fuck that noise.  I thought about routing him with a crossbow at first, but I don’t think the American public would have grasped the meaning.  So I went for some obvious symbolism instead.  We don’t want them yawning in their seats.”

Paulsen died shortly after the producer ran him through with the sword as he was in mid-sentence.  Bruckheimer was the one who dialed 911 soon after, requesting a “clean up.”  According to paramedics at the scene, Larry J. Paulsen’s last words were, “My ending was better.”

That Which Is Mightier

Jerry Bruckheimer maintains that the “sword” in question was actually just a particularly large letter opener.  “Medieval looking, perhaps, but I receive many large letters,” he told reporters.

Since the victim, as Deputy Brian Schoffield puts it, is “just a screenwriter,” Bruckheimer has not been officially charged with any crime.
